Overview
GMS NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS is an extra-curricular group at GMS. All members of NJHS are chosen for their leadership qualities, dedicated time for service, maintaining high academic standing, and for having an all-around strong work ethic and character. Members of NJHS must complete 25 hours of community service, in addition to maintaining at least 3.4 or higher GPA, serving as a leader in the school and in the community, and participating in school and community activities/clubs/teams. NJHS does conduct fundraisers to help support its activities and all members are required to participate. Students are invited second semester of their 6th or 7th year to complete the application process for NJHS, if they meet the GPA requirement. Once the candidates complete the application process, the Faculty Council reviews all the applications to select the qualified candidates. Candidates must meet the set criteria in each area: character, scholarship, leadership, service and citizenship.
